But she’s known as Annie Oakley, the legendary female marksman that Chief Sitting Bull called “little sure shot.” In 1885, she joined Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and became a crowd favorite. In contrast to her fellow female performers, Oakley’s costumes were always modest. Annie let her skills do all the talking.
